Information for Authors

The Program Co-Chairs (PCCs) for the 41st International Symposium on Combustion (ISOC) have created a technical program designed to accommodate a larger number of presentations while ensuring increased participation by a wider group of researchers, encourage and provide opportunity for the presentation of more novel and diverse research, include flexible formats to increase the engagement of attendees during the conference, while maintaining or improving the quality of papers presented at the ISOC and those published in PROCI.

The technical program will consist of contributed papers, presented in both oral and poster format sessions. Authors can also contribute a short abstract to be presented in a Work-in-Progress Poster (WiPP) format.

What’s the difference between the Poster and Oral Presentations at the Symposium?

All accept decisions were based solely on the quality of the submission and its value to the Symposium. The Poster and Oral sessions provide two different but equivalent formats for presenting scientific material.

Poster Presentation sessions play a vital role in the Symposium providing a unique opportunity for attendees to meet with presenters, explore cutting-edge ideas, and engage in meaningful dialogue in a setting designed to promote communication and interaction. These sessions will follow the Plenary Lectures at the start of each day and will be held independently from the concurrent oral sessions, at a time when no other presentations or meetings are scheduled. Oral Presentation sessions will take place after lunch every day and will utilize a podium-based presentation with follow-up time for questions.

Format decisions were made on several considerations, including the preference of the authors, the input from CCCs and LCCs, and the PCCs vision for the Symposium. Physical space and timing influenced the number of presentation slots available for each format.
